Determined to find a more reliable timepiece than electrically powered clocks, Hilfiker created a timepiece that comes up to the 12 oGÇÖclock position after just 58 seconds: It then awaits release from an automatic electrical impulse, which is sent at every full minute. When the black minute hand jumps to the next position, the red second hand then begins a new rotation GÇô ensuring synchronization of every clock in the Swiss rail system. Mondaine brought this legendary design to the wrist in 1986, and the Mondaine Official Swiss Railways watch has since become known as an example of excellent 20th century design.This Mondaine/SBB Official Swiss Railways Sport II Chronograph is a strong statement in form and function thanks to the 42mm stainless steel brushed case with trendy black IP coated fixed bezel and six polished steel screws.
